We have been collaborating with and receiving support from institutions for a long time, always without neglecting tradition and craftsmanship. All of it with the aim of continuing to advance and innovate, and also incorporating all the improvements within our reach to better develop our work. This is the reason why we participated in the Hazinnova Programme for innovative companies.
Last Thursday our “Commander” Matteo Orlando (CEO of Olasagasti, for the formally minded) was recognised by Basque Councillor Arantxa Tapia –on behalf of the Basque Government’s Department of Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment– as an innovative company after joining the ‘Hazinnova’ programme.
Innovation: a priority for Basque SMEs.
The work of small and medium-sized enterprises seeking to innovate has played a fundamental role in ensuring that the Basque Country is now positioned above the European Union average in the innovation index.
Arantxa Tapia, the Minister of Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment of the Basque Government, presented the diplomas last week in Durango (Bizkaia). It was an act of acknowledgement to the SMEs that have taken part in the ‘Hazinnova’ programme of the SPRI Group and the Basque Innovation Agency – Innobasque.
The event brought together a handful of companies from the Duranguesado, Gernika/Bermeo, Markina/Ondarroa and Arratia-Nerbioi Areas. It began with the presentation to Conservas Olasagasti, represented by Matteo Orlando, for the implementation of measures to promote innovation in their products or in their business processes (manufacturing, logistics, marketing, administration and finance issues), which have already generated results that improve their market position.
«We don’t just want to focus on large innovation projects undertaken by large companies. We want to focus on each and every one of them, whatever their size. Above all, we focus on the smallest ones, even micro-enterprises, to help them embark on the journey towards doing things differently,” said Tapia.
So, what are your thoughts? Actually, we are delighted that our efforts and determination to do things better and better have been recognised. Remember: Innovation is not at odds with tradition.
Have a happy day!
