This year, during the San Sebastian Film Festival, the most succulent award went to Marisa Paredes, Ambassador of Local Products of the Basque Country since last week.
Arantxa Tapia, Basque Government Minister for Economic Development, Sustainability and the Environment, and José Luis Rebordinos, Director of Zinemaldia, San Sebastian International Film Festival, presented the Euskadi Basque Country Local Product Ambassador Award to actress Marisa Paredes.
I will be the most loyal ambassador you could ever have. Eskerrik asko!

Actress Marisa Paredes, Ambassador of Local Product-Euskadi Basque Country 2023.
We are delighted that one of our favourite actresses in the world took home a representation of the best Basque products at this event within the Zinemaldia held at La Kofradia in Donostia.
It was surely one of the most endearing and affectionate encounters of the whole week of Great Cinema in the capital of Gipuzkoa because both Marisa and her husband Chema Prado are the perfect guests that you would take with you anywhere: Great conversationalists, interesting, intelligent, handsome and enormous professionals, they were full of affection and closeness. And always loved by the San Sebastian Festival staff.
If we accompany it with a cocktail offered by La Kofradia, the party could not have been more perfect.
Many people got to know her thanks to Pedro Almodovar’s films, but the truth is that she has worked hard and well since she was very young. In addition to being a film and theatre actress from a very early age, and a candidate and multiple award-winner, she was President of the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences from 2000 to 2003.
Marisa Paredes considers herself to be half donostiarra.
A restless, cultured, well-travelled, elegant and gourmet woman, she received a small representation of the great prize from the hands of the councillor Arantxa Tapia, who cheered us up with her cheerful and fresh speech:
«I feel that I am very much loved in this city. I hold San Sebastian and this Festival very close to my heart. I got to know Donostia when I was 16 years old at my first performance at the Teatro Principal and it was precisely the first time I saw the sea.
I am tied to this city by its good cinema, part of my family and its great gastronomy. So I already consider myself a national of San Sebastian. I am very proud to represent these products in which I totally believe, and I will not make any effort to talk about how they are the best! I will be the most loyal ambassador you could ever have. Eskerrik asko».
We are also very happy that you represent us and enjoy us with yours. A little piece of our heart and of the Cantábrico Sea is in your home forever.
